How do We Restore Fire Damaged Contents?
Many items can be dry cleaned to remove light debris and particulate soiling. Heavily coated items can be cleaned by fully immersing the piece in water with a cleaning agent. Hard surface items are sprayed with a cleaning agent and wiped with clean white towels. Spraying the cleaning agent onto the piece allows the restorer to mist the object and control how much is applied. This approach is useful for materials that could be damaged by the cleaning product.

We use foam cleaning for fabrics and delicate items that are lightly coated. Couches, mattresses, and box springs respond well to foam cleaning. We use abrasive cleaners as needed.
