SERVPRO Responds To Hurricane Irma Damage

Our crew at SERVPRO of Hyde Park / E. Bridgeport / Bronzeville responded to a commercial property that suffered flood damage from Hurricane Irma. The flood waters were deep and remained in the building for several days causing damage to the drywall. We removed the damaged drywall during our demolition process. We are still in the demolition stage and have not reacted the drying process yet. We are working quickly and efficiently to make it “Like it never even happened.”

Storm-Induced Damage in a Hyde Park Home

The roof was damaged by a wind storm, and insulation and debris fell through the ceiling. The cleanup is part of a SERVPRO service along with securing the roof from allowing further wind damage to occur. Fast response is a cornerstone of our service to our customers.

The Storm Water Caused a Problem

The standing water from the groundwater that entered this home in Hyde Park created two separate problems. Water removal to salvage the framing that was under remodel and the final disinfecting and sanitizing of the affected area.

Storm Damage – Bronzeville Home

Storm damage was realized at this Bronzeville home when a strong windstorm tore a hole in the roof. The strength of the air pressure ripped several sections of the interior roofing off also.

Storm damage – Chicago House

Storm damage at this Chicago house ruined the wood laminate flooring and soaked the porous concrete subflooring. The photo shows commercial air movers and a dehumidifier being used to dry the concrete subflooring in preparation for laying a new floor.
