Storm Damage – Chicago Home
Storm damage at this Chicago home took place when high winds accompanying a strong band of thunderstorms ripped portions of the roof from the house. Rainwater worked through the damaged areas of the roof and deposited water onto the ceiling and then the floor in some areas. The photo shows the kitchen ceiling with pockets of water ready to break through the ceiling. We had to remove some ceiling panels to dry the attic area above and extract water from the carpeting in the bedrooms. The bulk of the project surrounded replacing the insulation and ceiling material that had become waterlogged.
