Damage to a Public Building in Chicago from a Storm
The ground water from the severe sudden rain storm flowed into this level of a large retail store in Chicago. The access to the restrooms area had several inches of standing water that we removed with a portable sump pump and then completed with wet-vacs. The moisture was a different issue that was addressed with vented dehumidification into several of the separating walls. This was critical to prevent secondary water damage and possible mold proliferation. Our SERVPRO technicians cut out the non-salvageable lower portion of the drywall paneling to set up for the rebuild. We verified with moisture meters and infrared cameras of the return to a dry state to satisfy the documentation required by the insurance company. Count on us to minimize downtime and costs to your business.
